AH FASHION FRENZY!!

I hope everyone is as excited for NEW YORK FASHION WEEK as we are at Libra Leather. It is almost as though Libra has installed a revolving door that just won’t stop turnin’. Designers have been in a frenzy getting their “last minute leather” for their shows. From quick little leather skirts to show stopping shearlings designers are certainly scrambling to make their collections THE COLLECTION. It is always about that one last piece or outfit to make a collection complete and New York Fashion week is no place to mess around because the fashion gods know- it can make ya or break ya. Get Into Some Fierce Fur this Fall!!

Fur is all the rage this fall. It was seen on all of our favorite runways for Fall 2010. When it is time to bundle up there is nothing more fashionable than wrapping yourself in an amazingly plush pelt of your favorite fur. Libra Leather has a plethora of colors and furs for you to get your paws on. Whether it be a long haired mongolian vest or a rabbit stole-you take your pick- they are all amazing. Our leather has strut its stuff down the most famous runways including Alexander Wang, Philip Lim, Alice and Olivia, Adam Lippes, Richard Chai, Rag and Bone, Ralph Lauren, The Row- you name it…they come to us. LIBRA LEATHER ON BRAVO!

World renowned interior designer MARTYN LAWRENCE BULLARD stopped by Libra today with his camera crew in tow- unbeknownst to any of us at Libra. WHAT A SURPRISE! What wasn’t a shock was that the fabulous SAMANTHA JONES was the object of his affection. She showed him the most luxurious and beautiful leathers ranging from our durable Kangaroo to beautifully hand painted snake skins. HE LOVED THEM ALL.  Mr. Bullard is known for his perfect mixture of eclectic sophistication and  was searching for the perfect leather to cover an L shaped couch for JIMMY CHOO no less- he knew where he could find leather that was both eccentric and lush- the one and only LIBRA LEATHER. You will be able to see our segment on Bravo in the very near future so keep your eyes peeled!

LIBRA LEATHER EXPANDS!

LIBRA LEATHER is opening its first RETAIL STORE! The store will be situated behind one of the finest antique jewelry shops-Waldmann’s Jewelry and Antiques- on 25 Main street in South Hampton.  The store will be opening this Saturday June 26, 2010. The store is to be filled with the finest leather goods from floor to ceiling. There will be leather aprons and journals, to an array of pillows and blankets. There will be baby motorcycle jackets and possibly even some mongolian vests. So come in and dig deep fore there’s much to find.

LEATHER ROYALTY-REUNITED AT LAST!

The winter is cold and summer is over too soon-but what the summer brings are memories that last all year ’round. ALIK AND SOFI ALFUS HAVE REJOINED THEIR FATHER AT LIBRA LEATHER. They have arrived at last. It is important they are here-because after all, it gives everyone a chance to meet the heirs to the throne!! Sofi and Alik have been around leather for their entire lives, and they know that this is where they need to be. Alik and Sofi offer fresh innovative ideas for the company, and know the leather better than anyone. SOFI brings her amazing aesthetic and great sense of style, while Alik creates a perfect balance by brightening up the business side of things. Mitch has created an unbeatable team. Get ready for big changes at Libra Leather— in a good way. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with them this summer-  trust me it will definitely be an experience. At any point in time you can walk into Mitch’s office and see Alik strumming on his Gretsch, and Sofi singing along in a glorius duet- well maybe that’s pushing it a little- but Alik really does play the guitar…and you can definitely hear Sofi singing or humming a tune every once in a while. Having them around is like having Mitch cut in half- they are their father’s children. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree- and this is also true in the case of leather. Just as Mitch knows EVERYTHING there is to know- he has trained his minions well. So feel free to take a step into the kingdom as it continues to flourish and grow.
